SIGNAL News uses artificial intelligence to assist with drafting, structuring, and identifying connections across signals. All content is reviewed and approved by human editors before publication.
AI can help detect patterns and anomalies across large datasets, but editorial judgment determines what qualifies as a Signal Event, Update, or Structural Shift.
1. Drafting and Structuring
AI may be used to generate neutral first drafts, summarize primary sources, propose structured categories, and help maintain consistent tone. All AI-assisted text is reviewed and edited by human contributors prior to publication.
2. Signal Linkage and Context
SIGNAL News entries are anchored to Signal Content (Wiki) and to Discussion & Views (Public Square). AI tools may assist in identifying likely relevant signals and link targets, especially where an event affects multiple domains. Final inclusion decisions remain editorial.
3. Detection of Emerging Events
In future phases, AI may assist in monitoring new datasets and flagging material deviations or potential threshold crossings. Designation of a Signal Event remains a human editorial decision, based on published criteria and declared uncertainty.
4. Transparency
Where AI contributes materially to drafting or analysis, this role will be disclosed. SIGNAL News does not present AI-generated text as autonomous authority; published items are institutional outputs of SIGNAL Earth.
5. Boundaries
AI is not used to assign responsibility or blame, produce valuation conclusions, replace source verification, or override documented signal definitions. AI is a tool for synthesis and scale — not a substitute for method.
