SIGNAL News — Editorial Policy

SIGNAL News is an instrument log of planetary signal movement — not journalism.

SIGNAL News exists to register material changes in measured signals and in the system's understanding of those signals. It does not report events for their own sake, compete with media, or adopt persuasive or moral framing.

What qualifies as SIGNAL News

  • Knowledge Updates: revisions to datasets, methods, classifications, or uncertainty that change interpretation.
  • Structural Shifts: sustained movement in trajectories or distributions, even without new theory.
  • Signal Events: discrete events that materially change one or more signal observations (rare; high-threshold).

What SIGNAL News avoids

  • Narrative coverage, speculation, or rolling updates.
  • Attribution of blame, legal/political framing, or calls to action.
  • Emotive language or urgency rhetoric.
  • Standalone stories not anchored to defined signals.

Each item links to Signal Content (Wiki) and Discussion & Views (Public Square) when available, so that measurement review and public interpretation remain adjacent — but structurally distinct.
